Why are these deadlines important?
Applying before these deadlines lets NRCS, and Congress, know that these programs are necessary and in demand. The more applications these important conservation programs receive, the more likely Congress is to include sufficient funding for them in the next Farm Bill.
What if I miss my state’s deadline?
NRCS will automatically consider your application during future funding cycles if you apply after the program ranking date.
Applications are accepted year-round, and it’s never too late to begin your conservation journey!
