Farm Aid Music…Tuesday? Starring Arlo Guthrie, Willie Nelson, Neil Young and many more

I delayed today’s post to give more attention yesterday to our efforts to help family farmers affected by the destruction caused by last week’s tornadoes across the south (read Willie Nelson’s post on it here). So, to make up for the delay, today I’m bringing you a special video from the Farm Aid archives.

If you’ve been to a Farm Aid concert, you’ll know people should stay until the end to see a collaboration between many of the day’s performers in a group song (or occasionally, several group songs). Today’s video is from the finale of Farm Aid III, which took place at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 19, 1987. It’s Arlo Guthrie singing his father’s song, “This Land Is Your Land” with Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Kris Kristofferson and many more. Keep your eyes peeled to see John Mellencamp playing the washboard with another musician, Dennis Hopper, Levar Burton and many others all on stage helping out.
