Resources for Farmers Affected by Floods in the Northeast

The storm that recently ravaged Vermont and parts of New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire left a wake of ruined crops, perished livestock and destroyed equipment for the area’s farmers and ranchers. Compounding the situation is the devastation the entire area is witnessing – washed out roads, homes knocked off foundations, power outages and deep grief. While there’s never a good time for such crises, recent inflationary costs and increasingly turbulent weather have already crippled farming efforts this year. Recovery efforts are bound to be arduous. Time after time, farmers have demonstrated perseverance following hardships like this.  The way communities are coming together in support and solidarity is truly heartening. With support, the road will be a little less bumpy and producers will once again recover, thanks in no small part to their resilience.

If you’ve been impacted by the flooding, this resource spreadsheet (below) curated by Farm Aid’s Hotline Team can point you toward both local and national resources offering relief. Please be sure to check back often as programs evolve quickly and remember that Farm Aid is here for you in other ways as well.

Please be alert for potential fraud and scams at this time.
